Network TCP/IP

Windows XP Networking

The following instructions are set for DSL customer trying to connect to the Internet using a DYNAMIC or STATIC ip address. To be able to connect to the Internet with Cyberonic DSL, you must configure your machine correctly. Here are lists of simple Network TCP/IP instructions to guides you through your configuration.

  1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel icon.
  2. Click the Network and Internet Connections icon.
  3. Double click on Network Connections icon.
  4. Right-click on the Local Area Connection icon and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
  5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the This connection uses the following items list.
  6. Click the Properties button.
  7. Select Use the following IP address. “Only if you want or have given a Static IP”.
  8. In the IP address field, type the IP address you have been assigned.
  9. Enter the Subnet Mask given to you from Cyberonic. in the Subnet mask field.
  10. Enter your Default gateway address given to you.
  11. Select Use the following DNS server addresses Enter the DNS given to you.
  12. Then click OK.
  13. Then Click Ok.
  14. Then Click Close.

You had finish configuring your TCP/IP setting for Windows XP.


Windows 2000 Networking


  1. Right click on My Network Places, and choose properties.
  2. Right click on Local Area Connection, and choose properties.
  3. Select your (TCP/IP)
  4. Use Obtain an IP address automatically only if you do not have a STATIC IP address.
  5. If you have a STATIC IP, check Use the following IP address
  6. Enter your IP address, Subnet mask, Default gateway given to you from Cyberonic.
  7. Check Use the following DNS server addresses, enter the DNS given to you from Cyberonic.
  8. Then click OK.
  9. Then Close.

You had finish configuring your TCP/IP setting for Windows 2000.


Windows 98 / 95 / ME / NT Networking


  1. Right click on My Network Places (located on your desktop) then choose properties.
  2. Use Obtain an IP address automatically only if you DO NOT have a STATIC IP address.
  3. If you have a STATIC IP, check Specify an IP address, and enter the IP given to you form Cyberonic.
  4. Wins Configuration should be Disable.
  5. Enter your Default gateway given to you from Cyberonic.
  6. DNS Configuration should Enable, enter the DNS given to you from Cyberonic.
  7. Then click OK.
  8. Then Ok again.

You had finish configuring your TCP/IP setting for Windows98/95/ME/NT.

Now your Network Ethernet TCP/IP properties should be configured correctly. Try again to connect. If necessary, restart your computer and try again.
